I received an email from Liz Pike, administrator at the YCAA, to say that this year’s Yeovil Literary Prize is now open. Now in its ninth year, it’s one of the few competitions to have a novel category (synopsis and up to 15,000 words) and past winner, Sophie Duffy, went on to publish her first novel The Generation Game. Why not give it a go, as the Lotto advert says, ‘It could be you.’ I was judge for the short story section in 2010 and can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable jobs I’ve had, sitting back in the sunshine, reading the short list.
Further details on the competition here. Closing date 31st May 2012.
